There are several annual awards celebrating the outstanding accomplishments of CLD members announced during the annual conference, and now is the time for submissions and nominations. Scholarship, teaching, and service award nominations as well as applications for the leadership academy and leadership institute are due on May 31st. The Early Career Researcher award is presented to a scholar for an outstanding manuscript on learning disabilities based on Ph.D. dissertation completed within the last 5 years. Outstanding educators/teachers of the year are recognized for consistently providing quality instruction to students with learning disabilities. The Floyd G. Hudson outstanding service award is presented to a professional working in the field of learning disabilities who enhances the professional learning of others and impacts the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. The leadership academy is a two-year development opportunity for those about to enter or newly entered into a position at an institute of higher education. The leadership institute is a one-day program for doctoral students and early career faculty to learn about leadership opportunities within the CLD organization.
