Mission Statement

The Council for Learning Disabilities (CLD) is an international organization composed of professionals who represent diverse disciplines, is committed to enhancing the education and quality of life for individuals with learning disabilities across the life span.  CLD accomplishes this by promoting and disseminating evidence-based research and practices related to the education of individuals with learning disabilities.  In addition, CLD fosters (a) collaboration among professionals; (b) the development of leaders in the field; and (c) advocacy for policies that support individuals with learning disabilities at local, state, and national levels.

Vision Statement

All individuals with learning disabilities are empowered to achieve their potential.

If you wish to become more actively involved in CLD, check out a local/state chapter in your area. Chapters sponsor local and regional activities for individuals who want to keep current with the rapidly growing information base about people with learning disabilities. They also provide the opportunity for professionals to come together for discussion and camaraderie. For more information on membership.

We hope you will take the time to learn more about CLD, our conferences, our journals, and other work of our organization. We also hope you will consider joining us in promoting a greater understanding of learning disabilities.
