After months of waiting, on May 10, 2023, the Senate confirmed Glenna Wright-Gallo as the Assistant Secretary for Special Education and Rehabilitative Services (OSERS) at the U.S. Department of Education.
OSERS works to raise expectations for all people with disabilities. OSERS supports programs that help educate children and youth with disabilities, including those with learning disabilities, through its Office of Special Education Programs. Through its Rehabilitation Services Administration, OSERS provides for the vocational rehabilitation of youth and adults with disabilities.
